Apparently, if you let it boil it goes to brown. Like a lot of natural dyeing, "results may vary"! I can't wait to see how it turns out either. I'll be sure to post the results, good or bad!Dianne@sheepdreamshttp://kysheepdreams.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906387276996008333.post-52387764274171041312014-08-14T07:11:06.155-04:002014-08-14T07:11:06.155-04:00I love linen and whenever I see any vintage pieces...I love linen and whenever I see any vintage pieces, I buy them, even if they're holey!Dianne@sheepdreamshttp://kysheepdreams.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906387276996008333.post-7121138534076990772014-08-14T07:09:28.154-04:002014-08-14T07:09:28.154-04:00I loved Prodigal Summer - actually I'm a big B...I loved Prodigal Summer - actually I'm a big Barbara Kingsolver fan (she's from Kentucky!) and have loved nearly all of her books. As for those gathers - it's all in the basting! I know it's an old fashioned thing to do, but I kinda enjoy the handwork. (And really if you look closely, you'll see it's not perfect.)Dianne@sheepdreamshttp://kysheepdreams.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906387276996008333.post-82047559762397627812014-08-13T16:09:18.925-04:002014-08-13T16:09:18.925-04:00Don't feel bad, I'm all into the Outlander...Don't feel bad, I'm all into the Outlander thing right now too!!!!small farm girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01485314092236803411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906387276996008333.post-15772968445067117492014-08-09T17:48:14.088-04:002014-08-09T17:48:14.088-04:00If you weren't going to use the berries for dy...If you weren't going to use the berries for dye, you could cut a big piece and three or five of those piniculata hydrangea and bring them inside!! Love that dress you made :-) Too cute and looks so comfy. I haven't really done much sewing forever. Your pokeweed is intriguing - what color will it be? Can't wait to see more! Take care! They'll get you on the right combo, I am confident! :-) LannieKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13502519013129701412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1906387276996008333.post-57313215218599708682014-08-06T21:39:38.294-04:002014-08-06T21:39:38.294-04:00Love that top, Dianne. I love to think of you trying to sneak by your livestock too:) Have you read Prodigal Summer? It's my favorite all time read and I just finished it again. Anyway, you and your pokeweed made me think of Lusa from the book and her honeysuckle.
