Gone, so soon

We've had a sad few days around here.  Sweet Phoebe died suddenly,  early this week.  I've been conflicted about whether to share that news here,  especially in this season of celebration.  I finally decided that silence was,  in some way,  being dishonest.   She was such a joy and I'm finding it difficult to believe that she is already gone.  Every time I have gone to feed,  her empty cage has been a shock.  This morning,  I disassembled it and put away all of her food and toys.  Life and death are so much a part of living on a farm with animals,  but sometimes it just feels worse than others.

Meanwhile,  I have no time to sit around and dwell on it,  which may be just as well.  I'm so far behind in my baking,  cookie and candy making and present wrapping that I cannot stop long enough to wallow in bad feelings.  So,  I'm making a strong effort to remember how much fun she was and I how much I enjoyed her while she was in my life.

  4. OH! I'm so very sorry. Do you have any idea what caused it? When some time has passed, I hope you won't abandon the idea of bunnies, and will try again. I'm sure you will miss her very much.

  7. Oh so sorry for your loss. Just makes these gloomy, rainy days that much harder to deal with. We also just lost one of out dogs at 4 1/2 years of age. She was a precious being. Too soon gone. We all love our animals and it doesn't matter how long or short their lives are, it is always the same sadness. Life and death are a part of living whether it be an animal of human being.

  11. So very sorry, Dianne. Our animals are so precious to us, but I believe those who have a special place in our hearts, we will see again.

I hope your Christmas is especially blessed this year!

  13. I'm soooo sorry to hear it. They may be farm animals, but they can be our pets too. On another note, I have two woolys(sp) you can have if you want them. lol. I don't know anything about them. I just know they are VERY fuzzy.
